Lands of Hope maker gives away $390,000,000

Forlorn Games the maker of Lands of Hope announced yesterday that Lands of Hope Original Edition will be closing down on October 31st 2011 after over 6 years of fun and play since the game first went live in 2005.

We have given $5000 worth of virtual currency to every account in the game and will also give $5000 of virtual currency to every new account that signs up before the game closes.

This money is non-transferrable but will allow you all to experience every aspect of the game, all expansion packs and bonus features before the game closes on the 31st of October.

Lands of Hope was one of the premier online role playing games before the Economic Downturn took effect and it had a large number of players, while the last few years have seen a dramatic down turn in players the community has remained strong and supportive.

The effects of the downturn were compounded yesterday morning when someone managed to damage the Game through a successful attack. The first time in 6 years one of my games has been brought down by such a thing!

Unfortunately when we are dealing with such low playing figures as LoH has now securing the game and countering the effects of the attack just do not make sense so we decided that closing the game would be the best alternative but to allow players one more week of fun before it goes!

Those who do play the game can earn "World ending tokens" that will be counted and on Monday the 31st we will award prizes including pre-order packs for Phoenix Edition, T-shirts and virtual currency for use in Phoenix Edition.

We do not like the fact we are closing one of our games in this fashion but we think many people will agree that the newer and more beautiful Phoenix Edition deserves our full attention.
